Why Attend Money Power Day 2013?
Families who come to Money Power Day will be armed with the resources, tools, and support needed to change their financial futures. The many on-site services will allow participants to walk away with much more than a few brochures and business cards – they will have the tools to make the tough decisions needed to reach their financial goals.

Financial Planning Clinic
Receive a FREE financial planning consultation on site. To qualify, you must either be a: (1) Single individual with an income of less than $25,000; or a (2) Family with an income of less than $50,000. Contact the FPA of Maryland Pro Bono Resource Center at 443-743-5610 to pre-register and learn how to prepare for the financial planning session.
Housing Counseling & Foreclosure Prevention Clinic
Receive FREE legal advice related to your mortgage if you’re concerned about facing foreclosure. Please contact the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland at 1-800-396-1274 (ext. 3050 or press "4") to pre-register for a free private consultation at Money Power Day and learn how to prepare for the legal consult. Documents needed at the consultation include the following: (1) All paperwork related to current and former mortgages including loan application, settlement paperwork, and lender statements; (2) All foreclosure notices or threats of foreclosure, if any, received; (3) Monthly household budget; and (4) Complete Intake Form.
Youth Zone
Children and Youth are WELCOME! There will be interactive educational opportunities for kids such as the Power Buck Trivia Game, financial video games, face painting, ceramic piggy banks, a photo booth, and more! Brought to you by MECU of Baltimore.
Credit Café
Come to the credit café, pull your free credit report and get free one-on-one financial planning advice from qualified professionals. Brought to you by Wells Fargo.
Exhibitor Hall
Over thirty nonprofits, businesses and government organizations will provide valuable financial services, information, and education. Brought to you by Associated Black Charities.
Benefits Zone
Meet with an EarnBenefits counselor or a representative from the Economic Security Initiative for Older Adults (55+) to see if you qualify for additional benefits such as energy assistance, tax credits, food stamps, WIC, health insurance, and more.
Free Tax Clinic
Meet one-on-one with an attorney to get tips on tax planning and learn how to receive free legal help if you are dealing with the IRS.
Document Shredding
A large truck from Incred-A-Shred will be located outside Poly-Western High School to shred your secure documents. Be sure to bring any documents that you would like to shred!
